Onya Therapeutics, an innovative company developing pharmaceutical solutions for acute and chronic wounds, today announced the appointment of Professor Steven Jeffery as the new Head of its Clinical Advisory Board. A distinguished consultant plastic surgeon with a decorated military background, Professor Jeffery brings unparalleled expertise in trauma, burns, and advanced wound care to the Onya team.

Professor Jeffery's extensive career is marked by service in the Royal Army Medical Corps, including multiple operational tours in Northern Ireland, Afghanistan and elsewhere. As the first military plastic surgeon in Birmingham, he was instrumental in managing the high volume of complex casualties returning from conflicts, significantly advancing the standard of care for military personnel. His contributions have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Military Civilian Partnership Award for 'Regular of the Year' and the Wounds UK ‘Key Contribution’ award.

In addition to his clinical practice, Professor Jeffery is a respected academic, an expert adviser to the NICE Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme, and is an Internal Clinician at BSI. His deep commitment to both innovation and patient welfare is demonstrated through his extensive research, numerous publications, and charitable work.
